I purchase Berkshire Pork Boneless Smoked Ham, Half
and it was disgusting. It was grey looking and slimy.
I am going to throw away and I would like to get reimbursed for $38.99.
The quality of food is really slipping down.!!
That’s too bad.
I ordered organic chicken legs. They were so bloody that we could not eat them. I soaked the before cooking. It did not help. To much blood.
Here's The email I sent to the company.
"The fact that I typed in "Fresh Turkey" and your website stated they were frozen in order to ship was understandable.
But the turkey I received was frozen prior to November 29, 2020. I definitely will not be cooking a turkey that's been frozen for 5 months.
I don't believe I will be using your company again."
The Australian grass-fed beef they're selling in grocery stores is terrible. Not mediocre, but terrible. Something I'd expect from an Associated or Met Foods for a quarter of the price. I've tried their strip twice, and twice took a few bites and fed the rest to my dogs. It's shocking, really. For the record, I was a formally-trained cook for 15 years.
Great place to have high quality foods delivered to your Doorstep. On one of my more recent orders there was a small issue that i had caused. Alice, handled my little issue above and beyond. I have used these guys for many years and will continue to do so.
The best Christmas present ever.
My daughter is a rural mail carrier and working every day except Christmas Day. I wanted her to still be able to have her kids and grandkids for dinner on Christmas with as little work as possible involved and I ordered the spiral sliced ham for her. She reported it arrived in perfect condition and was the best tasting ham her family had ever experienced. Not only was there enough for her Christmas dinner but enough to send home with each of her three girls for their breakfast the next day. She made her delicious family favorite split pea soup for the weekend with the hambone and extra chunks of leftover ham. For me it was money well spent to hear how happy she was with it.I’m planning to order it again for other family events .
D'Artagnan is a huge splurge for us and we were excited to try their boar for Christmas...so I was devastated when FedEx didn't deliver on time and refused to expedite the delivery to send over the weekend (despite telling them repeatedly that it contained perishable raw meat!!). The meat sat unrefrigerated over the weekend, my spirits sinking by the hour. By Monday I still hadn't received my order, had been on multiple awful customer service calls with FedEx, and I was dreading the worst when I called D'Artagnan...but wow did they knock it out of the park!!
D'Artagnan customer service was so kind, they just verified the timing via tracking and got to work fixing things immediately!! When I sheepishly asked if I could possibly get it before Christmas I was expecting at best a tentative "possibly", but I was assured it would be sent out THAT DAY and they would pay for even higher priority shipping to make sure it was here in time. I received it NEXT DAY and D'Artagnan threw in a bunch of extra goodies to apologize for the inconvenience at no additional charge...I was both so relieved and so overwhelmed with the generosity.
I haven't experienced customer service this responsive or kind...ever!
I was so nervous to order meat online and after the FedEx screw up, I was convinced I never would again....but D'Artagnan really turned that around. Even if things didn't happen as expected, they more than made up for it and I was so well taken care of...I would definitely recommend ordering from them and I plan to again in the future!
PS: I have yet to taste the boar, but the duck prosciutto is AMAZING!
I have ordered from d’artagnan before and the produce has been great, however this review is for how they handled a cancellation/refund that I’d asked for because our travel plans were messed up by covid 19.
Needless to say it was incredibly straightforward and quick to let them know what the problem was and for d’artagnan to process the refund.
If there were zero stars I'd select that option. I tried ordering twice. Packages did not arrive on time. Sat over the weekend unrefrigerated. No reply from customer service. Never got anything that I ordered. Agent hung up on me. The worst part is this a total waste of resources.
Quick delivery BUT the lamb roast and steaks are highly overrated, read tough and poor quality. The free range lamb "roast" (without a further label description) turned out a shoulder which naturally is full of tendons and tough. The Wagyu beef steaks were also way tough.
The andouille sausage and duck confit were a little better but still subpar, especially since D'Artagnan is an expensive and bragging purveyor.
